Hello,
Please see below email from the Department of Communities who would value your input before Friday 13 June to be part of their digital campaign to encourage participation in sport. This is a request to send out information to your clubs if you can help. If they wish to provide any information, please send it to the email address at the bottom of this email:
Help us inspire people to get active – promote your club’s opportunities
The Department for Communities is preparing to launch a small digital campaign aimed at encouraging people across Northern Ireland to get more active and try something new. Launching in late June/early July the campaign will take advantage of the longer evenings and better weather to inspire individuals to take the first steps towards a more active lifestyle. We know that local sports clubs play a vital role in our communities, not just in providing opportunities to be active, but in creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can connect, learn new skills and improve their wellbeing.
As part of the campaign, we will be setting up informational pages on NI Direct, where people can learn more about opportunities to get involved in sport and physical activity in their area. We want to use this platform to signpost them directly to local clubs like yours. To support this, we are asking clubs to share:
Whether it’s giving a sport a go for the first time or returning to activity after some time away, by working together we can raise awareness of what’s available locally and inspire more people to take those first steps towards a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Please send your information and links through to barry.young@communities-ni.gov.uk by Friday 13th June so that we can begin preparing the content ahead of the campaign launch. If you have any questions or would like to discuss further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the aforementioned email address.
