Dear Member Nation,

As you may be aware, Bowls Cyprus, in partnership with Constantinou Bros Hotels, has received formal approval from World Bowls to host a new competition known as ‘The Atlantic Senior Fours 2023’. The entire Championships will be held on the extensive greens at the Constantinou Bros Hotels in Paphos, Cyprus.

As Event Manager, it is my pleasure to now formally invite all Member National Authorities in the Europe, Africa and Americas Regions as defined by World Bowls to participate in this inaugural tournament.

The greens will be available for practice on 30th November 2023 and the competitions will commence on 1st December 2023 and conclude on 12th December 2023The event will comprise Men’s, Ladies and Mixed competitions. The Men’s and Ladies Championships will run concurrently in the first part of the tournament and will comprise sectional play and knockout stages from the quarter finals onwards. The Mixed Fours Championships will commence after the Finals of the Men’s and Ladies competitions and will be a knockout event. 

Member Nations are invited to enter a maximum of 2 teams of four in each competition. All players must be aged 55 and over as at 1st April 2023. The Mixed teams may be drawn from players who competed in the first part of the tournament or other players at the discretion of MNAs.

To cover the possibility of over subscription, ‘first’ and ‘second’ teams should be identified in each of the three events.  Second team places would then be allocated via random draw and Nations advised well in advance if their second team is selected.  It should be noted that this is not a World qualifying event.

Member Nations are requested to respond to this invitation, indicating an intent to enter and advise if you wish to take up the maximum allocation of 2 entries in Men’s, Ladies and Mixed events by 31st March 2023 using the form which is on the website.  Early expressions of interest (without commitment) would be greatly appreciated by the event organisers to assist with the overall planning.

web-based team Registration Form will be available from 1st April 2023 for MNAs to confirm their entries and this should be submitted by 30th June 2023 latest.  The names of competitors should be confirmed by 31st August 2023 at the latest using a web-based form which will be available from 1st July 2023.

Special Rates for Competitors and Team Managers

Accommodation Dates – 30th November 2023 – 13th December 2023

Room rates per person per day for duration of the event (including bed, breakfast, light lunch* Wecome reception & Farewell Dinner** )

Twin Inland View      €72.00 per person per day

Supplements per person per day

Single occupancy       €18.00

Sea view                   €12.00

Limited sea view        € 6.00

Full Board (Dinner)    €18.00

All competitors/team managers not taking this designated Atlantic Senior Fours Package for their stay at a Constantinou Bros Hotel or who book to stay at Constantinou Bros Hotels other than direct, will be required to pay €45 per person per day for the duration of the event.  This charge covers the Presentation Dinner**, light lunch*, Welcome Reception and other services.

* Light lunch will include a soft drink or water

** Presentation dinner will include a half bottle of wine per person plus water


For all others wishing to attend, the Farewell dinner will cost €50.00.

Accommodation will be reserved on payment of deposit at the time of booking.

Full payment of the balance due will be required upon arrival or earlier if preferred.
