New funding from SportNI for Bowls in NI
SportNI have announced a new funding stream to help sport ‘Build Back Better’ after the ravages of Covid 19 to Sport over the last 12 months. Please see a link to the announcement below.
Please see comments below from Neil Booth, Old Bleach BC who are one of the successful applicants from the fund.
Old Bleach are delighted to announce that we have been successful in the Project Reboot – Team Up initiative recently launched by Sport NI. We would like to place on record our thanks to Sport NI for their continued support and guidance in all aspects of our Sport. Their help and expertise are greatly appreciated. Sport NI will be investing almost £25k into this initiative.
The name of our project is ‘Bowl Back Better’ and we will have 3 Strands attached to the Project, namely Dander Bowls, Bowls Fit and Intergen Bowls. We hope to promote the benefits of bowls, as a ‘Sport for all’, widen the appeal of bowls and highlight benefits to both individuals and the Community.
We will be doing this in conjunction with a number of other clubs including Coleraine, Owenbeg, CI Knock, Dunbarton and all three indoor stadiums and also with local voluntary groups. We have in excess of 30 voluntary groups coming on board and we will keep everyone posted with our progress. Top class coaches will be utilised to showcase both our sport and also the mental and physical benefits it provides. Watch this space for further news and updates as our 12-month project is delivered
