Old Bleach are the Irish Senior Challenge Cup champions after a thrilling ’nip & tuck’ classic tussle with Belmont at Ulster Transport BC this afternoon.

At 5 ends Old Bleach nosed themselves in front by the narrowest of margins, a solitary shot. Belmont responded and edged ahead by 4 after 10 ends, but were steadily pegged back by end 15 with Old Bleach regaining the initiative by 2. With both sides having one hand on the Cup over the remain ends, the lead swung to and fro, before Old Bleach finally secured the title, 78-74.

Congratulations to Old Bleach, commiserations to Belmont and well done to both sides for providing a thriller of a contest.
