As you are aware the NI executive yesterday announced the relaxation of lockdown for the outdoor sports of Tennis & Golf. We had hoped that might mean that outdoor bowls would also follow as our friends in the ROI are now allowed to play within their guidelines.

Today we received some clarification and SportNI have said:

‘Sport NI is requesting that sports do not take a decision to return to training and/or any form of competition unless the NI Executive advises that it is safe to do so’.

SportNI is awaiting DfC approval of a ‘high-level Framework for the resumption of sport in NI. They will then be able to consider which outdoor sports would be allowed to resume. We realise this is not what we wanted to hear but hopefully the delay will be a short one.

Meanwhile, we have attached the Guidelines from the IBF and to help clubs prepare for the resumption of bowling.
